red tape

I spent most of today trying to register my new address at the district office. The process took forever because of all the red tape involved. I had to fill out three different forms and wait in line twice. By the time everything was done, it was already past lunchtime.
Today’s team meeting left me feeling completely drained. Our managers kept pushing for better numbers by the end of the month, but as usual, they expect results, but they won’t lift a finger to support the team. No extra budget, no help with staffing, nothing. I tried to stay calm and focus on what I can actually control. After work, I vented to my friend over coffee, and she totally understood. I guess all I can do is keep doing my best and hope things change eventually.
