I’ve been putting off learning the guitar for almost a year now. Every time I look at it sitting in the corner, I tell myself I’ll start ‘when I have more time.’ This morning, I finally picked it up and just played one chord — nothing fancy, just a single G chord. It felt a little silly, but also kind of freeing. I remembered that quote: a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Maybe that one chord is my first step. I don’t need to be good yet; I just need to keep going.

기타 배우는 걸 거의 1년 가까이 미뤄왔다. 구석에 놓인 기타를 볼 때마다 ‘시간이 더 생기면 시작해야지’라고 혼자 되뇌었다. 오늘 아침, 드디어 기타를 집어 들고 코드 하나만 딱 쳐봤다. 거창한 건 아니고 그냥 G코드 하나. 좀 어색하기도 했지만, 뭔가 홀가분한 기분도 들었다. 그때 문득 그 명언이 떠올랐다. ‘천 리 길도 한 걸음부터.’ 어쩌면 그 코드 하나가 나의 첫 걸음인지도 모른다. 잘할 필요는 없다. 그냥 계속하면 된다.
